Meet

We had our first meet yeasterday. A meet is a cross country competition. Actually it was only a practice meet, but there were other teams from other school competing. The course was shorter than our competing courses usually are (~2.3 miles compared to 3.1 miles) but it was a nice easy start.

I'm kind of disappointed with my run though because I could've gone faster. But that's life, and it wasn't an important run anyway so..

Btw my time was 18.54, I don't know what place I was tho...

School

Is it weird that I actually enjoy school? I like waking up in the morning and going to school. I've made a bunch of friends, and I like my teachers. I like being at school! Didn't think I'd actually say that, and my opinion will probably change eventually..

What we actually do at practice

Poster

We got our first homework today (surprise) and one I actually liked was our English homework.

We are supposed to make a poster with our names, a picture of ourselves, "favourite..." and a quote we like. Here's my poster:

First Day of School

Today was first day of high school. I don't know what I think about it, but it probably was good because I'm looking forward to tomorrow. The school is a mess though, with hallways in every direction and three buildings connected to each other in ways I don't know if I'll ever understand. Good thing, I only got lost twice! (I had to ask for help a few times...)
Most of my teachers seemed nice, and I like my classmates. At least this far. I didn't talk to that many people, but those I spoke to were very friendly and nice!
I got a locker yay! It's pretty big too! :)

I'm not taking any hard classes or any math, because I'm just that awesome. Hahah jk, I didn't want to work hard this year... :)

Church

We went to church today. It was different from church at home, more interactive with the FÖRSAMLINGEN and the pastor. There wasn't too many people there, and they were all so nice!

After church we had lunch with our grandma, and then we went school supply shopping. I am kind of nervous about tomorrow! Not about the classes or meeting new people or anything, but about finding my way through the school.

Twang

Yesterday after practice I went shopping. No directly after practice, I went home to shower first. Then I got a ride to Emma's house because her dad was taking us to the mall. We spent about two and a half hours in the mall. I had a good time! :)

When I got home I reorganized all the things in my room. I'm starting to feel like it's My room now, not a temporary hotel room.

After I organized my room I ate dinner, and then Tori, Addy, their friend and I got dressed to go to Twang. It's like a countryclub where you dance country dances. It was fun, but it would have been better if I knew the dances. I learned a few of them there though.

A Frog and Billiard and Waffles

Hey!

The party was fun! We, or I, didn't swim, but a few people did. The girl who was hosting the party, Emily, has this house next to their actual house, and it's filled with gamethings.. Like karaoke, air hockey table, billiard table, basketball baskets, ping pong table, you name it... So we had fun running around in there playing games and singing :)

I played (what I think is) my first real billiard game. Ryan challenged me, and I accepted. I was not that far from winning actually, mostly because Jon was helping me. But he mainly told me what to do, so I did most of the job myself! hahah can't believe I'm this proud of myself :P

We didn't have time to finish the game tho :(

We also made a campfire, now my hair smells like smoke.....

Oh and btw, when we arrived to the party there was a frog in the pool. It was laying completely still, so I thought it was a like pooltoy or something. It scared me so much when I reached out to grab it and it suddenly started swimming away.

I've eaten 8 waffles today. With syrup and vanilla ice cream. Now my stomage is really full, it kind of hurts....

Pizza

We didn't have two practices yesterday. We skipped morning practice (Hallelujah) and met up at school around 12.30 instead. From there we took two (because we are too many for one) schoolbuses to the Fuller lake.

We had a great day out by Fuller lake! We swam, played with a freesbee, ate (pizza and ice cream,) and of course, we went for a run..

It was a really nice day!! :D

Today we had morning practice.. But we will not have evening practice. We will have a pool party instead. You ain't gonna hear me complain ;)

Right now I am sitting in la dining area in our house, finishing my pizza... Yeah Pizza last night for dinner, pizza today for lunch and pizza today for dinner....

Bear Run Campground

The Weekend... I didn't tell you about it yet.
We went camping, as you may know, somewhere close to Pittsburg. It was really nice! We didn't do much tho, relaxed and ate basically. I went for a run though, and we went shopping on saturday. I enjoyed that xD hahahah

By the way, when I was running I was looking down at the ground, and then when I looked up, these four were staring right at me. I almost had a heartattack!

Yesterday we had a party with the cross country team. Or it was like 12 persons who actually showed up, but we had such a fun evening! I really liked it! :D
Today we had practice, and will have soon again... That's it for now ;)

Surreal

I still have these moments when I realize I actually am here, in the States. It's all so surreal. I've been waiting for this for so long, and it came so quickly. I can't believe I'm already here.

It's hard to explain the feeling, but it's there for a moment, and then it's gone. Leaving you wondering what is real and what isn't. And how time can pass by so fast.

Camping

We're going camping today! Not in tents though. In a trailer (?).. We're going to Pittsburg. I've never been there, so I'm excited!! :D

I'll be missing a teamparty though :/ But there will be other partys, I will survive :)

I'll probably not have internet while we're away, so I'll update on monday instead. See you

Run and Icecream

Running is so exhausting! Like seriously sometimes I wonder why I do it, because I get so tired and sore from it.. But at the same time it's such a good feeling after you've finished a run!

I like my crosscountry team! We have fun together :) After tonights practice we went to Massey's to get icecream. Emma dropped some icecream on the ground, and I dared her to eat it, from the ground. She actually did it! I never thought she would. So now I owe her an icecream.. Ahaha totally worth it! :D

I filmed while she ate it, but since I'm updating from my phone I can't attach the whole video. It was awesome though!

Idk what to write...
The poolparty was fun! I had a great time, even though I got thrown into the pool.. :P
I became closer to some of my friends, aswell as made some new ones!
Today's morning practice was probably the nicest this far... :)

Cookies

We are making cookies! Because today we have a poolparty with the team after the noon practice, and seniors are supposed to bring desserts.

At today's morning practice we had a time trial. First we ran a warmuploop (2miles). Then we raced 1.2 miles and last we raced 800 meters on tracks.

And my legs are dead. (If you want to know my times comment down below and I'll answer it later)

First week in America!

Well Hello!
How are y'all? I'm fine! Great actually :)
(I didn't get internet connection until today, that's why I haven't updated)
So I have arrived safely in Pennsylvania, found my hostfamily and got settled. The first days I didn't do much, watched tv and ate basically :P
Last saturday I went to Hershey park with Tori (my USA-sister) and her friend Mckenzi. We had a great time! Later that evening Jason Aldean was having a concert at Hershey Park Stadium. Tori and Kenzi really like him, so we decided to buy last minute tickets for his show. He was pretty good, even though I liked the guy who opened for Jason more - Jake Owen. (Is that bad?)

During sunday it was raining a lot, and by the evening there was a little muddy "lake" in our garden. Tori decided we were going to play in the mud. So we did!

I decided to join the cross country team. So yesterday the practices started. We have practices twice a day until school starts (except for sundays, and saturdays we only have 1 practice, at noon.) The morning practice starts at 7.30, which means I have to wake up at 6 in the morning!

IS THAT THE TIME YOU WANT TO WAKE UP WHEN IT'S STILL SUMMER?!!

no.

But the practices are fun, and I've got a few friends there, so it makes up for the early mornings. Maybe I won't be alone on the first day of school :)

Well, now that I have internet connection I will update you later :) Going to bed now because you know, two practices a day and early mornings...

Chairs

If I ever become a dictator of the whole world the first thing I would change would be that every airport had to have chairs without armrests! You can't lie down to get some sleep when the armrests are there.. If you do either your back gets all f**ked up (sorry my language) or you have to do like this:

Yep, I'm laying under the armrest, between it and the chair. Don't ask.

But it could be worse, I shouldn't complain...

Washington

So now I've areived in Washington, gone through the passport control, got my luggage, re-inchecked my luggage, found a YFU-travelassistant and bought myself some dinner.

Only 6 hours left until I SHOULD be in my new home :)

Pressure

Ha now it feels like I've lots of pressure to update my blog since I've linked to it on fb and everything.. But oh well...

Right now I am sitting in Frankfurt Airport with some friends waiting for our next flight. We've been here for two hours and we have two hours left.... Yay lovely!
